Building designed by architect Francec Morante Lamolla in 1898. Built in the middle of modernism, was finished in 1907. Noted for its artistic treatment of the facade, which include the floors of the balconies, stone floral motifs on the ground floor or glazed gallery.
Was the house of the banker with the same name and is also known as
La Pedrera of Lleida for their artistic quality and quantity of items.
In 1998 it was bought by a construction company
to convert it into a residential building, which led to the disappearance
Victory Boulevard and the recovery of the damaged facade.
Noteworthy are the paintings inside the main
entrance.
The house has been host organizations as diverse
as l’impremta of Joventut
Republicana of Lleida, la
Creu Roja or la
Organización Juvenil Española (OJE). There lived poet Magi Morera i Galicia.
The ground floor was in 1908 one of the first
theaters in the city, Porfoliograph, better known as the Portfolio.
